Cheap, practical, reliable
The S-design has a huge spec including half leather, bigger infotainment display, smart nav, reversing cam, adaptive (radar) cruise. It is comfortable, and more spacious than rivals, and although top-spec, cost significantly less than an entry level Golf, Focus or Astra would have done.
I have done 90,000 miles in mine with no mechanical faults, not even rattling trim. I get 10% better than the official combined fuel economy figures despite a heavy right foot.
My only criticism is the odd power steering, which has two modes that can only be described as a bit too heavy and a bit two light, and that all fiat dealerships within 30 miles of my house are the same useless franchise, and have not been very impressive.
