Will replace this one with another Panda, just don't know which version yet.
I bought my Panda MJ new in 2005 & drove the dealer's launch model which I bought. It was blue metallic with factory alloys which was exactly the one I wanted. It takes me to work every day & has been very reliable. Tyres last around 35,000 miles as do front pads, rear shoes lasting 50,000. The only parts I've replaced apart from normal service items have been a pair of front anti-roll bar drop links & 2 shock absorbers. The original offside front after 6 years & its replacement 12 months later. The only time it didn't start was when the battery failed. Otherwise it returns 56 to 62 mpg brim to brim (worked out, not from trip computer) & will cruise easily at 70 & is quite entertaining when the road gets twisty with good (for its size) overtaking ability. There is enough room for two of us plus dog to have a long weekend away & is comfortable enough to drive for 2-3 hours at a time. At the moment the DPF/EGR is clogging up & will be dealt with in the next couple of weeks. The only bugbear is that the timing chain needs changing & at £600 at a specialist every 85,000 miles wipes out a lot of the financial benefits of a diesel, but it's the most powerful normal Panda after the 100HP. Have another? Yes.
