Fiat 500X (2015 - 2024)
1.4 MultiAir 5dr
we liked it until one day...
... last week the turbo failed spectacularly. Been driven for 46k with never a complaint or fault.
Only ever had brake pads and tyres changed and passed MOTs with no advisories. Without warning last week, car loses power as it was driven along in the village under 30mph. Suspected engine was not firing on all cylinders. Slowly got home, no warning lights displaying. Started it later and immediately it put up error messages and said check engine. Limped to garage who stated it was in safe mode. they downloaded diagnostics and said turbo was starting to fail. However they cleared error message and enginecame out of safety mode so drove normally during test drive. By next day, it was back in safe mode and clunking like a tractor whenever accelerator was being pressed ie it was only quiet during gear change. it steadily took longer to start every journey over that day in safe mode.
Turbo replacement is costing £1,000 with a service on Monday.
Seriously unimpressed. We were going to buy a new 500X when we sell our house in a few months but not now...
