DS 4 (2011 - 2018)
1.2 Puretech 130 Prestige Start+Stop 5dr
Looks arnt everything
Our DS4 is beautiful to look at, inc blue colour, lovely chrome around the windows, blacked out windows.
It has all the modern interior features, automatic lights, window wipers, reverse camera and sensors.
The boot is really big, never had a problem fitting anything I've needed in, lately I bought a new lawnmower which fitted in.
I have 2 children who fit in the back of the car for now. There isn't much room for them an with the blacked out windows it's dark for them an the windows don't open, it's also hard for them to open the doors themselves from the outside.
The seats in the front are comfortable and driving is usually a nice experience, running of the car is manageable as well. Tax is £30p.year an insurance is acceptable around £400p.year. I'm unsure of the true mpg but I think its around 45?which is a rough guess, as I only tend to do short journeys.
We have had one major issue with the car at 4 years old. The engine broke down, the local trusted garage found the problem at just before 4 years (when they advise the spark plugs to be changed on the 4 year service or 36000 miles) he found that the the spark plugs had eroded, and a piece of that plug had fallen into the engine. Causing £2000 worth of repair & labour costs.
When I called DS about the warranty & to see if they could help with the issues, they said your over 3 years, an they don't cover spark plugs. Even though the guidance is they wouldn't have needed changing yet as my car has only done 19500 miles, they wasn't willing to accept that the original spark plugs on the car after 3 years an 19500 miles eroded so much were faulty.
I enjoy the car but am struggling to trust it & how DS have built the engines in these cars.
