Daihatsu Sirion (2005 - 2009)
1.3sx 5dr hatchback
Great car but read my whole review
Hi There.
I bought my sirion as a 'get to work wagon' and to keep my other car (a rover 75 tourer) good over the winter.
It's a great little car with the following benefits
VERY Spacious
Comfrotable
Reasonably quick
38MPG economy
LOADS of spec
Great looks with the sx bodykit and my car's optional 16" alloys
Easy to work on mechanically
Disadvantages -
c***py paint (very thin and easy to chip)
Expensive and reasonaly hard to source major parts (suspension, clutch, exhaust)
VERY easily scratched interior plastics
Cable clutch MUST be kept adjusted (easy)
I like my Sirion. A LOT
What I dont like is the fact that the previous owner was a bit lazy on maintenance and opened every door against a wall :(
Due to lack of adjustment, I think my car could probably now benefit from a new clutch as it judders a bit in the morning when cold. The car has only done 55000 miles
Other than that, it's a pretty flawless car, and as I am a mechanic and classic car enthusiast, I can fix everything.
I would say buy one, but check the service history and the clutch freeplay before you do
P.s. I call it a steak!
