Still giving me a feel good factor after 11 years
Bought this car direct from BMW factory in Munich in May '09 en route to a diplomatic posting. After 18 months or so, it returned with to our home in UK waters. Only do about 8k miles per year (have a hybrid for shorter journeys and town driving) It's never put a foot wrong in eleven years. It's been touring about the continent and all over UK/Ireland.
Regularly get over 60 MPG with cruise control on motorway / dual carriage ways (I'm a trained response driver in my previous employment and a National Observer with IAM) and about 48/50 for the odd time it drives into cites etc.
As previously mentioned, the runflat tyres wear out quicker than I'd like and are a bit dearer than regular tyres and don't do so well in the snow/ice. However as my wife drives this car on long journeys I'm happy to keep them on the vehicle.
Everything works flawlessly on the vehicle, all controls still feel well weighted and sturdy. I service it every 10,000 miles and believe that is part of it's ability to still feel fresh and still get very good MPG.
Get a perfect / very good service history and you'll have a quality car for some time to come.
