BMW 3 Series Touring (2012 - 2019)

Great to drive, fully reliable, classy and practical
Bought during the Covid pandemic with only 15000 miles on it for a great price from a main dealer, it has proved 100% reliable apart from the LEDs on the gear lever failing, which I fixed myself with a second hand part. It is now due a service but so far in more than 30000 miles has cost almost nothing in maintenance except for a set of tyres. Apart from a recall I haven't used a BMW dealer but stuck with my trusted local mechanic. It is a fantastic car to drive and absolutely solid on the road and it's very quiet at speed. I like that it is fast while looking very conservative, esp in dark blue paint, although the 3 litre engine is OTT for most purposes, and the Sport mode with or without the manual change is completely unnecessary. Economy is good, always around 43- 44 mpg from mixed use. It is not quite as practical or as large as the Mondeo estate that I had before but it still holds a lot of stuff and people with a good level of comfort, and uses less fuel for far more performance. It has the optional parking assist which works superbly. The interior is classy and the materials are high qulaity in the main. One small thing I dislike is that when using cruise control there's nowhere to put my accelerator foot, and the seats could use more thigh support for the longer legged driver.
