Audi Q5 (2017 on)
Black Edition 40 TDi 204 Quattro
Nice car but with the many electronic system don't always work
This car is practical, can be fun to drive on occasions (I have the air suspension with programmable settings, together with almost all other options) and is an excellent choice for transport for small families. The inside is actually quite small, so don't expect too much space however it's big enough for ski's in the winter and our kayak in the summer and family outings.
Build quality is good, however the electrical systems are hugely unreliable - my car has been back to the garage 6 times in less than 2 years for various problems. The satnav is the weakpoint - slow to update, difficult to use - it's like a TomTom from 10 years ago. Luckily Android Auto is supported, although this took another trip to the dealer to get it to work. Many of the other electronic systems from Lane Assist through auto speed limit indicators work for 90% of the time, but are hugely annoying the 10% of the time when they fail and are actually then dangerous - to the extent my wife refuses to drive the car unless absolutely all so called "assistance" is turned off. Fortunately the unreliable Lane Assist can be turned off permanently on our model.
So in general a good car, but spoiled but an awful satnav and unreliable electronic "assistants". My advice is specify the absolutely minimum possible electronics assistants if you buy from new. They don't work reliably.
