Audi A6 Allroad (2012 - 2018)
3.0 BiTDI quattro Tiptronic Auto 320 4dr Estate
Dissapointing
This car appears to tick all the boxes but was overall a disappointment.
Although Audi seemed to score well on depreciation this does not bear out and particularly on this car where the depreciation is eye watering in the first two years.
Good stuff: build quality and finish, quiet on the motorway.
Bad stuff: Handling very detached feels like you are driving through all the compensating technology, dashboard technology at first seems impressive but after a while seems overwhelming and a distraction, problem when my wife wanted to use occasionally as it is difficult to just jump in and drive off if you are not 'trained' to use it.
Although perhaps subjective I found the car too big in a clumsy sort of way. Frequently too long for parking spaces & wide. Albeit cabin space is good.
I personally did not like the pop up screen and was always retracting it despite no way to stop it popping up on start.
Lastly dealership experience: I had to force myself to buy this after the appalling experience of Audi dealerships. I had previous experience of this but it seemed worse than ever, despite trying several different dealers I struggle to understand how the sale of such a carefully engineered product could be put into such incompetent hands. Perhaps the brand sells itself. Still the combined experience means I am unlikely to ever consider purchasing Audi again.
