Audi A3 (2008 - 2012)
1.8 TFSI S line 5dr Black Edition
Great looks, good for A and B road driving, overall a little harsh
I've this car from new, and overall its a good car, but not a great car.
I have a 25 mile round trip to work each day, and it's great fun driving solo on twisty country roads.
I also have used it for 200-300 mile journeys on motorways etc, this is where it struggles. The gearing isn't suited to motorway driving and its noisy.
Good points:
Looks, the black edition extra make the car look good inside and out.
Stereo - Bose, so sound quality is great.
Bad points:
Interior quality, I have only done 17k in just under 3yrs of driving and the leather on the drivers seat has already worn through in places.
Ride quality for passengers - on 18in alloys and sports suspension, it's really bumpy and jarring for passengers.
The boot is very narrow, compared to a mates golf too, so if you're not sure which to go for and you want boot space, Volkswagen is that way!
Real life Fuel consumption is mid to low thirties for my commute. On longer runs high thirties.
I have also just had the front shocks replaced under warranty after a little over 17k, which both the dealer and I were shocked about.
