Audi A6 and A7 updated for 2024 model year

Audi has given its Audi A6 and Audi A7 Sportback models an update for the 2024 model year. Both get small styling tweaks, new paint and alloy wheel options plus upgraded standard equipment.

The updated models are available to order this month with prices starting at £43,965 for the A6 Saloon, £46,115 for the A6 Avant and £56,385 for the A7 Sportback.

The A6 and A7 Sportback line-up now has three trim levels: Sport, S line and Black Edition. Matrix LED headlights with dynamic front and rear indicators, electric seats with memory function, Audi phone box light, Audi App store and camera-based traffic sign recognition are now standard across all models.

The Audi A6 Sport trim features a dark chrome finish for the front grille, new side air intakes and a redesigned rear diffuser with silver elements. S line variants come with chrome inserts on the grille, along with redesigned rear diffusers finished in grey for the A6 and chrome for the A7.

S line versions of the A6 also have redesigned side front air intakes with matt black elements, widened side sills, 19-inch wheels and sport suspension.

There are now 12 paint colours with Arcona White and Madeira Brown Metallic newly added. Grenadine Red Metallic and Ascari Blue Metallic are now available for the S models and the S line trims.

Interior updates include a black finish for the dashboard and roof lining, a multifunction sport leather steering wheel with contrasting stitching and perforated leather grips plus stainless steel footrests and pedals.

The S line interior offers seats upholstered in Dinamica microfiber/leather combination with S embossing on the front seat backrests. Illuminated front and rear door sill trims with aluminum inlays and S lettering further enhance the interior of S line models.

The performance-focused S models, including the S6 and S7, also feature an updated design for the grille. The lineup for the S models has been revised, with the Black Edition as the entry-level option and the Vorsprung as the flagship specification.

New optional packages for the A6 and A7 models include the £2995 Technology Pack which adds a Bang & Olufsen Premium Sound System, multi-colored extended LED interior lighting, a 360-degree camera with top view, Park Assist with Parking aid plus and a Head-up display.

I want a large petrol estate to replace my current Volkswagen Passat, what are my options?

I have a 2.0 litre petrol Volkswagen Passat estate and am looking to replace it this autumn. Given that there isn't a petrol Passat with the same power what are my options in a similar(ish) price bracket for an estate with that sort of capacity? I'd even consider the Audi A6 Avant e-tron or Volkswagen ID.7 if available.
Although the Passat Estate GTE has officially gone off sale, the Volkswagen UK website says it is available from stock, so you could potentially enjoy 218PS with the flexibility of a plug-in hybrid. The Audi A6 Avant e-tron offers strong performance with 299PS but with a starting price of £58,000 is a bit more expensive than the Passat, while the Volkswagen ID.7 is yet to be released and at present is only expected to be available in saloon form rather than with an estate bodyshape. Your best option may be to look at something used, otherwise you may have to increase your budget in order to keep the same performance and space as your current Passat.
