  • Ordering is open now with prices from £40,080

The new Range Rover Evoque has been updated outside and in for the 2024 model year, which JLR calls 24MY. The new luxury SUV has facelifted styling, even more luxurious detailing and a fully updated interior.

The new Range Rover Evoque has swapped buttons on the dashboards for a comprehensive curved glass touchscreen, which now masterminds all functions including the climate control.

The new Range Rover Evoque P300e plug-in hybrid also has a longer pure EV range and is now able to use DC rapid chargers for faster top-ups.

The updates ensure the new Range Rover Evoque remains a formidable challenger to rivals such as the all-new BMW X1 and BMW X2, Audi Q3, Lexus NX, Volvo XC40, Mercedes-Benz GLA, Jaguar E-Pace and even the sporty Porsche Macan.

New 2023 Range Rover Evoque prices and release date

The new Range Rover Evoque is now open for ordering. Bosses are hopeful the semiconductor shortages that have impacted deliveries of new Range Rover Evoque are over, which should help cut waiting times.

New Range Rover Evoque prices start from £40,080. Outgoing Range Rover Evoque prices started from just over £34,000, but this was for the base model that is no longer available. The previous Range Rover Evoque S cost from just over £37,500, meaning new Range Rover Evoque prices represent a hike of around £2,500.

The new Range Rover Evoque has a much less confusing model range than before. Those looking to buy or lease a new Range Rover Evoque now choose from S, Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE and Autobiography models.

New 2023 Range Rover Evoque styling, interior and technology

The new Range Rover Evoque’s styling has been carefully honed to give it an even more luxurious and upmarket appearance. At the front, it has a new grille, plus slim Pixel LED headlights with distinctive new daytime running light pattern. These are standard on Dynamic HSE and Autobiography models.

Fresh colours join the new Range Rover Evoque range, including Arroios Grey, Tribeca Blue and Corinthian Bronze. There are two contrast roof colours too, Narvik Black or the Corinthian Bronze pictured here. Those buying or leasing a new Range Rover Evoque can choose from eight different alloy wheel designs, with five new finishes, which measure up to 21 inches in size.

The new Range Rover Evoque also has new ‘super-red’ rear lights. These promise better visibility and reduced glare for other road users, courtesy of their advanced new matrix technology. Meanwhile, a range of new exterior accents are available, including Corinthian Bronze ‘Range Rover’ lettering.

The new Range Rover Evoque’s interior is where the biggest changes lie. The lower climate control display, which previously used a combination of rotary dials and touchscreen surfaces, has been replaced by a stowage space that includes wireless device charging.

A new 11.4-inch curved glass touchscreen now masterminds all the new Range Rover Evoque’s major functions, including climate control. The Pivi Pro infotainment system is situated higher and closer to the driver, says JLR, so it is more convenient than the previous flush-fit touchscreen.

The new Range Rover Evoque’s touchscreen has ‘always visible’ controls for climate seating and audio, via new sidebars that have multi-function sliding controls on either side. At the start of each trip, a ‘pre-drive’ panel pops up for fast access to commonly-used features such as window demisters and heated seats. It is replaced on the move by the familiar Pivi Pro three-panel home screen.

The new Range Rover Evoque’s touchscreen allows 80% of tasks to be performed within two taps of the homescreen. It supports both wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto. Amazon Alexa is built in, and accessible via voice command: just say ‘Alexa’. It is also Wi-Fi enabled with a data plan, and has over-the-air updates.

For the first time, the new Range Rover Evoque offers cabin air purification. It is part of the optional Comfort Pack, or standard on Autobiography. It features PM2.5 filtration and cabin CO2 management, which helps keep the driver alert. There is a purify setting too, that can reduce the level of allergens or particulates inside.

The new Range Rover Evoque offers leather-free textile options – and it is the only SUV in its class to offer the Kvadrat wool blend fabric pictured here. The wool blends give a contemporary feel and are 58% lighter than leather – and longevity is promised by a 60,000-cycle abrasion test that simulates a decade of use.

Other new material options inside the new Range Rover Evoque include Moonlight Chrome for the steering wheel, centre console and air vents. Shadow Grey Ash veneer is a fresh trim choice in the new Range Rover Evoque Autobiography.

New 2023 Range Rover Evoque engines, performance and fuel economy

The new Range Rover Evoque offers a choice of petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid engines. Every version apart from the entry-level D165 FWD diesel is electrified, with petrol and diesel engines using MHEV mild hybrid tech.

All diesel new Range Rover Evoque use a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine. The choice is D165 FWD, D165 MHEV AWD and D200 MHEV AWD. All but the base engine have a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Fuel economy of up to 47.3mpg is possible, with CO2 emissions from 156g/km. The D200 boasts 0-62mph performance in 8.5 seconds.

The entry-level new Range Rover Evoque petrol engine is the P160 MHEV FWD, which uses a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine. It averages up to 36.2mpg and does 0-62mph in 10.3 seconds. The 2.0-litre four-cylinder P200 MHEV AWD and P250 MHEV AWD are much faster, with 0-62mph in as little as 7.6 seconds, but fuel economy dips to just under 33mpg.

The focus of the new Range Rover Evoque range is the P300e PHEV plug-in hybrid. This combines the 1.5-litre engine with an electric motor and 14.9kWh battery. The electric-only range is now up to 39 miles, with a real-world expectation of 30 miles’ pure EV driving.

The new Range Rover Evoque P300e has 309ps for swift 0-62mph performance in just 6.4 seconds. Yet official fuel economy of over 200mph equals CO2 emissions from a tax-friendly 31g/km. And the battery can now use 50kW DC rapid chargers, for on-the-go top-ups to 80% charge in just 30 minutes.

JLR reminds us the new Range Rover Evoque is also available with Adaptive Dynamics, for adaptive suspension refinement when driving on road, and tailored calibration for off-road driving.

The new Range Rover Evoque’s Terrain Response 2 system offers tailored settings including Eco, Comfort, Grass-Gravel-Snow, Mud-Ruts, Sand, Dynamic and Automatic. It’s all masterminded through the Pivi Pro infotainment system.
