Paris Motor Show 2014: Hyundai i20 revealed
Hyundai has released details and official images of its all-new i20 ahead of its public debut at the Paris Motor Show in October. The car has been designed and engineered in Europe and should be available to from early 2015. You can expect to pay from around £10,000.
The updated car is longer and lower than its predecessor, which translates to more interior space. The cabin is designed to seat five adults, with claimed ‘class-leading’ legroom and boot space, which is 326 litres with the rear seats in place.
More detailed specifications are to be announced, but Hyundai has revealed that a full-length panoramic glass roof will be offered, along with LED lights and a reversing camera. Buyers can also expect the offer Hyundai's typically generous level of standard-fit gear, including air conditioning and Bluetooth.
The outgoing i20 competes in rallying, so it's even possible that we'll see a sporty hot hatch variant of the i20. Hyundai's sister brand, Kia, has introduced a 200PS version of the Cee'd, using a turbocharged 1.6-litre engine - an engine that would fit a hot Hyundai i20 well, albeit with slightly less power. Hyundai has mooted the possibility of high-performance models in the past - click here for more information.
