Fitting a dash cam could save drivers one third on their insurance
Drivers could save more than 30 per cent on their car insurance premium by fitting a dash cam, according to tech brand Nextbase.
It has launched a car insurance policy, Nextbase Insurance Services, to reward its safest drivers with discounted car insurance premiums for owning a dash cam.

It says that 57.3 per cent of its customers have saved a third when purchasing a comprehensive car insurance policy through Cornmarket Insurance Services (based on premiums paid against ABI figures for Q3 2020).
Its research also shows that dash cam policy holders are 33 per cent safer drivers, based on telematics scoring.
Drivers with dash cams fitted benefit from being able to provide video evidence to their insurer in the event of an incident. A MoneyExpert survey of 2000 UK driving licence holders last year found that 70 per cent had bought a dash cam specifically for that reason.
The video footage can settle claims up to twenty times faster, as dash cam evidence enables insurers to settle disputes and helps drivers prove to their insurer they were not at fault, according to Nextbase.
The footage also helps drivers protect their No Claims Discount and avoid a 50:50 settlement, which can lead to a price increase at renewal.
Bryn Brooker, head of marketing at Nextbase, said: "Building on our partnerships with a select group of insurers that offer dash cam discounts to Nextbase customers, we’ve now created a new breed of car insurance for our dash cam drivers so they receive the discount on their car insurance they truly deserve for safer driving.”
Customers with a full No Claims Discount (nine years) can also choose to fix their insurance policy price for three years, with a guaranteed premium and payment options over 36 months.

As far as I know Churchill insurance will cancel your policy if you install a hardwired dashcam since that counts as a modification, something that they don't like.If it is not hardwired it is an accessory and so not a problem!!!!!!!
