I can't see any problem with using one of these connected to the aux battery via croc clips.Maplin do a 2.4 w panel for around £15.This should do the job.

I've a 2004 Citroen Picasso and it has always been parked in the drive throughout the winter. Every year we go to West Australia for 3 months and to date it has always started first time on our return. It is on the original battery!!!

Neighbours send me photos of it covered with snow each year. I'll know at the end of this month if it will start this year, but if not I'll simply put a charger on for 4 hours, then take it for a new battery.
