Rac came out said crankshaft sensor. Removed and checked resistence should be 399 ohms, getting 388 which is not too far away cleaned clutch dust fom it & replaced it engine still not starting.Fuel pump runs whe ignition switched on, but no spark at plugs. No voltage at coil low voltage pin 2 when cranking.

Could this still be crankshaft sensor?

All help appreciated Iain

Do you have a fault code ?

If it's the crankshaft sensor are you seeing a red engine light ?

It could be a faulty coil. Check/test the voltage before and after the coil to assess.

Unlikely to be a crank sensor. With ignition on,there should be a power supply to the centre pin of the coil connector. If it is missing, then I would suggest you check the fuses behind the glovebox.hth

Have checked all engine related fuses, and as already stated no feed at coi,l have also tried another coil.Feed for coil comes from fuel pump relay could it be a break in wiring or even ECM

As The ignition coil is supplied from the same relay that powers the fuel pump, there could be a fault in the wiring to the coil.Don't forget that the feed is only momentary when the ignition is first turned on.The Pcm switches the relay,so i don't think this is the problem.hth

How old is the battery, might be worth buying a new one. unless you left your lights on or soemthing. It sounds like it might be coming to the end of its useful life.

Did the RAC person check the battery ?
How did they conclude it was the crankshaft sensor ?
