Ford Fiesta 98 1.3 - Ford Fiesta 98 - anyone know this bracket? - kevinod

Hi guys,

a stoopid problem, caused by more than one person working on a job! Had to replace a Mk5 Fiesta clutch slave cylinder, which of course meant taking down the gearbox and everything in the way.

Have it all back together and working and all, but left with a bracket. I'm not 100% convinced it is even from the car, can't see where it is supposed to go, but my brother reckons its def off the car, only he can't work out where.

Anyone recognize it, and know where it might go?

Is there a 2nd bracket at the engine side of the gearbox beside the cat?

Kev.

Try cleaning the bracket up. You may find a part number stamped on it which you can google, or you may find a manufacturer other than Ford there, which will back your view that it isn't from the Fiesta. Only other way is to retrace your steps and offer it up to everything you have touched. Did you have any nuts or bolts left over? Does the starter motor have a support bracket?

Maybe part of the gearbox shifter linkage?

Does it bolt to the bellhousing and secure the exhaust ...

Should be a clamp on the downpipe

Might be to support the starter motor

Looks to me like one of the brackets from the block to the Manicat, there is one on each side of the pipe on most that I have seen.
