The steering does not self centralise when turning at corners or roundabouts. After putting car on a lift we disconnected both track rod ends both road wheels turned to & fro with no resistance felt. after checking knuckle joints which were free. After fitting a s/hand steering rack which did not cure the problem. Any 1 any ideas on this please Best Regards Mickeybo

You need to have your wheel alignement checked professionally. The caster angles are probably wrong due to a bump. and the car suspension/chassis has been deformed.

ATS do a free steering alignement check - 4 wheels... And only charge for adjusting tracking.

As above but you could try swapping the front and back tyres over, they can do funny things.

Wheels moved freely when track rods were disconnected so replaced the steering rack with a used one. Is this a plain, manual rack or power steering?
