The old Escort didn't have any of the fancy electronics that you find in today's diesels, so faulting it is a matter of going through anything that hasn't been done recently and changing anything that's due for changing, such as fuel and air filters and checking for water in the fuel or dirty diesel. If the filters are clean, then try some magic potion additive in the fuel tank to clean the injectors. After that, you're into removing the injectors and fettling them. Nobody has stuck anything up your exhaust pipe as a joke have they? That's always a good one!

I agree with Avant. Don't use Microsoft IE, use Firefox. I've gone one better.. I don't use Microsoft at all, I use Ubuntu Linux.
