Hi,

Need some help, having a meltdown!

Went out from work this evening and my battery was dead. Couldn't centrally unlock the car, had to open it on the key. Ended up attempting to jump start it and the panel/display/central locking then turned on. However I am having no luck whatsoever when attempting to start the car. It's not turning over, trying to turn over, or doing much at all.

Engine System Fault message displayed on dash.

RAC came and tried new battery, tried boost pack and banged it with lots of sticks (honest!) and had no luck. Ended up having it towed to a local garage.

The immobiliser light is still flashing quickly which suggests the key is not recognised.

Key was left in ignition when jump starting, wondering if this could have wiped it?

Tried reprogramming key with instructions found online, no luck.

Tried the spare key, no luck.

Really hoping it's just a blown fuse not anything more serious.

Help?!

(Don't want to end up paying local garage if it's going to HAVE to be a Ford dealer)
