Hondajazz - Gear box - amishta

Hi ,
I have just bought a secondhand Honda Jazz 2003 and found out that the gearbox is making a funny noise on the 1st , 2nd and the 3rd gear . Well I have read a lot on the forum about the Technical service Bulletin regarding the faulty gearbox . I have a few of the paperwork about the service the car have had the last 10years . I have not see any thing mentioned about any repair o the gearbox . I have phoned honda HQ and they tld me to send the car to the local dealer and they will charge me for the diagnosis . My worry is they might tell me any story and I would not know the real truth . I wish to know what can I do to confirm my complaint to them and that they have to accept the real fault .
What any steps can take before contacting them .
explian to me the proper mileage and warranty I now need to have to qualify for this complaint.
