Does anyone know if an import eg VW has 1 or 2 years full
warranty from UK main dealers. I get conflicting advice from some dealers

If it is an Eu car then it should have 24 months manufacturer's warranty. Expect your local VW dealer to be pretty unhelpful though.

Nearly all my cars have been imports and I have never encountered a problem with VW/Audi/Mercedes/Toyota/Nissan dealers and the warranty; although there have only been minor problems. VW even replaced the thermostat on a Golf FOC some months after the warranty had expired as a goodwill gesture.
