Should we cancel our order having paid a deposit?
We are in the process of buying a car and we went to see it yesterday and paid £5000 deposit. Since we came home my wife has had calls off the fianance company when she was not the buyer or had any corrospondence with the dealership, is this a data protection breach and would I be able to cancel my deal and get my deposit back. I feel like they have gone behind our backs.

This situation depends on what information was submitted to the dealership, and the terms and conditions that should have been presented to you when the deposit was paid. Whether you can cancel and have your deposit returned will also depend on the terms and conditions that were agreed at the time of the deal. We would suggest consulting these carefully before returning to the dealership.
