Vauxhall Vectra B - Vectra 2.0 DTi 2001 ABS fault - mickyh7
Vec 'B' 2001 DTi 127K
As above,I've searched all over for this and cant find a match. The ABS only comes on momentarily (worse over bumps) then the pedal sinks.
If I pump the pedal(engine running) it goes down a bit then the Engine Management light comes on (not the ABS light) as soon as I pull away or rev, the light goes out.
I've checked the activator rings and they look OK,but quite rusty.
Vacuum fault ? No noise from under the bonnet, brake fluid normal Runs fine, turbo kicks in fine.If I brake hard over a manhole cover in the wet the ABS works fine ! - I'm stuck now.
Anyone got any ideas please ?
Thanks.

No diagnostics tried as no light on for ABS,

Surely any electrical fault/or mech. fault with ABS would result in a ABS fault light through the ECU ?

Tyres all OK makes sizes, pressures and diameters.

What are you thinking next ?

Thanks

The abs system needs to be interogated for any fault codes and also to check the live data wheel speed sensor output to verify that they are all equal .I suspect that one is "dropping low or out"which is an indication of a pick -up ring (reluctor)problem.hth
