Volvo V70 - rear end shunt - barney100

My Volvo V70 diesel was hit from behind in a traffic queue and although the bodywork is now fine there are several issues on which I would like opinions. The fuel flap was jammed solid and on release has just flapped around...aptly named. Rear seat mechanism stuck and one reat seatbelt won't move and the other won't tension. Oddly the idle speed is now fast too. The rear tailgate was replaced and several rear end items like the bumper too so it was a fair old smash. The car was mot tested and serviced recently and none of the faults listed were present but I have to attribute them to the accident or pay out myself. If I was trying to con the insurance I would have screamed whiplash and got the ambulance chasers on it

That was quite a wallop.

Certainly the rear seat problem and the fuel flap would be related ... was the repair done by a decent bodyshop?

I had a Volvo estate at one time and I was rear-ended, but the offending vehicle just speared himself on my towbar ... much to the detriment of his radiator ... the Volvo was pretty much unscathed.

The repairer did a good job on the body but the minor issues like the flap drive you to distraction.Yyou get the feeling they think you are trying it on. Maybe getting cars out quickly increases revenue and sorting the minor bits is not cost effective.
