ford focus 1.6 tdci 2005 - help - crap focus

hello,

I have bought a 2005 ford focus 1.6 tdci i have only had it a week and ive noticed what looks like a splurge of oil may have leak out from a rubber hose. The hose may be coming from the air inlet going to intercooler.

55000 'alleged' miles. car drives fine. the leak looks to have only happened once.

I'm taking the car back tomorrow.

Can anyone tell me if this is a major concern ?

I was told by my garage that this is quite a common fault with the focus, the leak is normally nohing more than minor. If I had this problem on a car I just bought I would take it back if I had not been alerted to it at the time of purchase.

I have to say that I am less than impressed with the focus, lots of things have gone wrong with mine and none of them cheap.

i took it back mechanic more or less confirmed what you said. I think you're right about the focus, i should have paid the extra and went for a golf.

i think getting a refund is easier said than dome though.
