Been on the receiving end of one today. However can't deny it was me and it is in fact correct. I was there. That said - I am dubious as to the legality of this (particularly so under Scottish law . . . . . . . . . . . . ) It's done by an outfit called Athena ANPR Ltd and photographs of my entry and exit are provided

However before I admit my guilt, am I correct in the above or should I just stump up and shut up . . . . . . . .

Depends if you think the sum they are inviting you to pay seems like value for money to you.

They can't fine you, they can't charge you a penalty; all they can do is ask you to pay a sum of money for breaking a contract you have supposedly entered into. Dubious at best.

See the many other threads on this topic - it's been done to death. The usual advice is to ignore any and every communication from the outfit concerned. If you really feel you owe them anything, send them a tenner to cover any inconvenience you have caused. They'll probably send it back.
