1999 Chrysler Voyager 2.5TD,man trans - 1999 Voyager TD loose power at 1900rpm, - Voyager diesel

I cant understand that this is related to the turbo, but ok im taking all good ideas here.

Same on my 99 TD voyager,u can feel turbo kicks in about 1700rpm then at about 1900rpm u loose power ,almost as u let up the trottle to almost idle speed, if u move trottle in and out over 1900rpm there is no difference if u have little or full trottle, and

engine would run better than this even without turbo pressure at all,in my opinion its the computer who tells the dieselpump to go into modus of lettn trottle out so it dont much power because its something wrong....a sensor or something...same problem here,no reading codes on testequippment, mine was running perfect, then i had battery out to change screw on bracket to fasten batt,i started it again, let it run for a while on idle, saw that i had pushed hose from cranccase off big tube who goes from airfilter to turbo(there is a sensor there to)conected it back on,and drove it,then i noticed this s*** had happend...and headace starts, and all this can be coincedence......

if u loose turbo pressure on pressure side it would be even loss, this problem who we all have is a sudden loss, and it would have been a big whistle someplace thru a crack, but ill check if some vacumline is close to battery as one say in here, since i worked with the battery, could pushed one of or out......but again i think a in order Voyager turbo would run better even if u remove the turbo, then they do with this problem...but again im going to check if something around turbo/vacumlines,etc

had another 96(yes not learning.lol) coupple years ago ,same problem, didnt get it solved sold it,and dont know if they ever got it fixed,

There is many in here who have EXACTLY the same problem, and there has not come up one single good answer whats real wrong and how to fix it,just lots of this and that, and im blank myself, was hoping someone who realy had fixed the problem had been in here and told.......i think but not sure that guy with turbocrack in line was another problem.......but ill check,it could be a chainreaction who tells sensors this and that,so ill check,if i solve it too,ill be in here and tell, but listen to all opinions......

i guess its fitted with the VM engine ? I belive there is a very small pipe, like diesel leak off pipe, that will run from the manifold to a diaphram on the top of the diesel pump.

When the turbo boosts the increased manifold pressure goes down this pipe to the pump to increase the fuelling. If the pipe is iether blocked or perished then the pressure escapes and doesnt enrich the diesel pump and thus looses power ! worth a check.

some of the pumps have a microfine filter under the banjo bolt and down inside the pump for the fuel inlet. these are never inspected but often block preventing enough fuel to enter the pump causing the engines to run very flat as soon as the turbo boosts.

Before removing the fuel feed banjo everywhere must be spotlessly clean.

Thanks ,ill check that...this is happening on same rpm all the time, and can be a leak or something, but it also happend at all the other ones at the same rpm,as u have a feeling the computer is set to reduce trottle at that certain rpm on this enginetype, yes its a VM...,if something is not right, but ill check

1999 Chrysler Voyager 2.5TD,man trans - 1999 Voyager TD loose power at 1900rpm, - Voyager diesel

there are no lines to the pump, but im back to the turbo.....there is a little relay who two wacumlines comes and goes from on the innerfender on the battery side, one line comes with vacum and goes back to wastegate.the relay is eletrical controlled...going to check it tomorrow,if its not a egr s*** there,i just see a vacumclock behind the eng,so im going to investegate that tomorrow........

Hi, hope you found the solution.

I have the same problem for more than one year and still did not found the solution.

Mine loses power about 2000rpm, it drives very fine till it reaches 2000rpm, and wastes 12/13 litres per 100Km, I cannot go with the van anywhere.

This is all what I already done:

Changed the air mass flow for a new one but one from ebay cheap ( maybe the problem)

tryed already 4 sensor injectores bought from ebay (cheap)

changed all the injectores for other second hand

New, fuel and air filter

changed the turbo wastegate actuator (the other was good and this one is good also)

tested the brake switch, one contact opens as the other closes (its good)

tested all the turbo pipes with pressure air looking for leaks (they are good)

checked all wires from sensors ( fuel quantity actuator from fuel pump; MAF; sensor injector) to ECU

No faults on the diagnostic tool.

the heads were machined, valves reseted, new steam sealers aplied, new headgasket, new headbolts, new water head core plugs aplied

the fuel quatity actuator reads 15ohms and it get 12volts

all the sensor injector reads between 90ohms to 100ohms more or less, never more than 110ohms, and not less than 80ohms

Problems I have:

first time ignition key is placed on ignition and car started , the acelerator pedal does not work at first time, only at second time, if I disconect the car without taking the key out and start again the acelerator pedal works at first push.

the car still makes alot of smoke when starting (white) and idle is very rough, I realize that if I disconect the fuel quantity actuater from the plug the car does not mae any smoke on start and idle is very smoth.

either way at 2000rpm loses power and wastes alot of diesel with or without the fuel quantity connected

everytime I connect/disconect a sensor I disconect the battery for several minutes

My car electritian says I have a bad MAF , because its a cheap one not a original bosch, and I say to him, man I haven´t got more money to spend on this. lol

My friend try to disconect your MAF with battery disconected , wait ten or twenty minutes them conect it again and connect the battery maybe its a simple thing, or change you MAF but be sure its a bosch one or it will end like mine.

I was forgotten, also cleaned the EGR valve and was working fine, even so I disconect the vacum pipe from it and put in a blind gasket , but nothing changed.

Hi, another thing I check the coolant sensor (3 wires-one is ground , other goes to temp gauge in the cluster and the other to ECU) its a positive coeficient temperature sensor, the more the heat the less the resistence. check the wires and sensor, I did it all but no luck

dont know if this helps any one i have had the same problem with my voyager 2.5 vm i looked undr the car to check the fuel lines and found that they were crushed between the fuel tank bracket and the tank i checked another one in the car park and it was in the same place so after releasing the bracket and putting the fuel lines on the outside and reforming thier shape i regained my power hope this helps

Hello, same car and year. For me the same problem occures at 1950-2000rpm. Engine looses power and the turbocharger whistle came down. No faulty codes at display. I will check my fuel lines immediately and i will come back soon.

... back again. My fuel lines is fixed and now okay, egr valve okay and the wastegate is also okay. Still having the same problem with loosing power. But the ODB-test gives me a fault code "P1201 (Alt. Fuel) Gas Mass Sensor Circuit Range/ Performance". Have no idea what sensor that is? and i can't remowe that code.

1999 Chrysler Voyager 2.5TD,man trans - 1999 Voyager TD loose power at 1900rpm, - gueorgui

Code has different description: P1201 - Injector Circuit Open / Shorted - Cylinder #1

Do you have increased idle speed by any chance, does it go up and stay at 1100-1200 idle range after you press and then release the accelerator ?

1999 Chrysler Voyager 2.5TD,man trans - 1999 Voyager TD loose power at 1900rpm, - 1999 Voyager wm turbodiesel

The problem is now solwed, in my case it was the injector #1 (with the sensor one)

I think theese problems with the redused boost is the faulty code in ECU.

ECU will run in service mode when something is wrong.

Check up with OBD when this occure!
