Nissan Micra K11 2001 - Jammed brake light bulb - mikem004

I was replacing the brake light bulb (P21/5W dual filament) and now the bulb is jammed in the holder. It is half way in, half way out. I can't get the bulb out, nor can I seat it more firmly.

Running light works OK, but brake light does not come on.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mike

I would carefully break the glass and use a pair of long nose pliers to manipulate the base out of the holder. You may need to bend the metal base to ease removal. Also make sure lights are off.hth

I presume you are meaning the metal base of the bulb. That explains why you were telling me to break the bulb glass.

Sorry to state the obvious but being dual filament the bulb pins will be staggered so the bulb should only go in one way. You haven't by any chance forced it in the wrong slots? Long nose pliers is what I'd suggest as well.

Yes, definately pliers. You might find a little white galvanic corrosion/powder which can also interfere with the easy removal of some bulbs.......eb
