Vauxhall Astra G Petrol - car intermittantly missing - astraman1999

hi guys

ive got a 2000 astra mk4 1.6 16v and 50% of the time it drives spot on smooth and quick. the other 50% of the time its will miss when you accelerate, feels same sort of symptoms like when you are running out of petrol and it starts juddering, then it will kick in again and be fine, recently changed oil and plugs so i can rule them out, any ideas would be greatly appreciated as i feel like throwing mi trolley jack through the windscreen at the moment lol....... cheers

Long shot but does it miss when you indicate to overtake? Had this on a colleagues car and when you pulled out on the motorway to overtake whilst indicating got exactly the symptoms you described, pull out without indicating and smooth as silk. Main dealer rebooted the ECU and cured it but couldn't guarantee it wouldn't happen again.

hi

seems to do it randomly at any given time, not just when indicating, been told it could be coil pack, egr valve or crank sensor !!!!! why's life never simple lol

Coil pack is favourite for this ,but I would check the connector to it.Make sure the terminals are clean and tight.hth
