Focus models do not have a dedicated cooling fan switch.The fan circuit is controlled via the engine management system which also controls the operation of the temperature gauge.So if the gauge is recording correctly ,then the sensor is ok.Take a look at the fuses and relay in the engine bay fusebox first.hth

we have changed all the fuses and the relay in the engine bay fusebox and the gauge is reading correctly thats why we thought it had to be a sensor any other info u can give us ty for your help so far

You can try a simple circuit test.With engine running,disconnect the engine temp sensor.This will put the system into default mode.The cooling fan(s) should start to run after a few seconds.If they don't, then you need to check the power and earth supply at the fans.Could be motors at fault.hth
