Citroen C3 - warning coming on saying engine too hot - Brendag

since it has become very cold, the warning display tells me to switch off my engine as it is too hot!

I have had a winter check and the coolant is ok

Only happens when it is very cold, generally in the morning when I drive to work, it does not happen later in the day,

any clues?

Sounds like a dodgy sensor - I wouldn't worry about it - mention it to the dealer at the next service.
