Volkswagen Golf III - Coolant temp normal - heater temp is luke warm - sparky29

The engine temperature warms up as normal in a few minutes. The blower temp is warmish but blows cold if I turn the fan up to de-mist the windscreen.

Is there a thermostat somewhere that needs replacing? If so where?

it sounds like a restricted in water flow to the heater rad caused by valve or blocked heater matrix. has it ever had a coolant sealant added ?
Flushing the heater may help

I've only had the car about 6 months so I don't know.

I will try flushing it at the weekend.
