Nissan Note - mileage NMR issues - mulder79

Hi guys.. newbie here

I am very interested in a Nissan Note that a trader is selling but the HPI check that i did has raised a few questions regarding mileage. Now i dont understand how the figures can be way off. I know the car was MOT June 2009 which show 28K thats fine and then it goes up to 40k then down to just 40 ????

I did the check last night and entered 38k (according to the seller) as the current mileage and now that has become an entry, so could this mean that anyone like me could have entered incorrect mileage when they also did a HPI check ? im really confused. The car is a 2006 note that has been serviced by Nissan garage last year and the seller has provided all the other info (Log book data ) that has come back as correct and no other issues. The car has a currant MOT that indicates 38k

It just not make any sense.. from 40,000 to 40 ?? that must be a typo on the part of someone who did a HPI in the past ??

can anyone shed any light please

Nissan Note - mileage NMR issues - Ethan Edwards

For 40 read 40 thousand.

My guess is it's dealer shorthand of the kind that you see on Auto Trader a LOT and it drives me loopy. The reason why I filter the results 'less than 40,000' is to exclude intergalactic mileage sheds. So a dealer simply typing '190' into Auto Trader instead of 190,000 means that when I'm looking for reasonable mileage cars . instead I get reams of hyper mileage rubbish that I don't want. Irritating!

I wish Auto Trader would stamp it out.
