Ford Focus 2001 - heater problem - imnomechanic

My heater is either off or on full, there is no changing speed, i was told that i needed a heater resistor which i purchased today, how do i now fit the resistor.

any help would be gratefully appreciated.

I came across this site as well RAC, it says something anout a box behind the glove campartment.

my friends told me to try the wire test at the back of the switchs on the heating panel, so i un-screwded it all and after a couple of times trying i found a setting to leave it on as it was frosty morning lol

so went scrap yard and got my self a new switch, the 1-4, came home and fitted it all back together now as good as new,,,,,GOOD LUCK
