306 Hdi - Handbrake slipping - scfc_151

I have posted about this problem before but still I am struggling.

I have replaced all parts on the rear brakes on my 306 estate. This has had new pads/discs (mintex) re-con calipers, brake fluid and handbrake cable etc.

The brakes have been adjusted up properly as far as I know. When I replaced the pads/discs I used copper grease to ensure they would adjust up properly. Fitted a new cable and tightened it up in the centre console (not over tight). Compressed the pedal and pulled on the handbrake to settle them in.

The brakes are good I think on this car, however the handbrake on just got through the MOT on about 18% (if I remember rightly)

Im lost of what else I can do to get the handbrake right. Does the friction material make a big difference. As I said I used mintex but should I use OEM parts? Any advise to improve this would be appreciated

Cheers

If you had it MOTd directly after fitting the pads the efficiency would be low as it takes some time for them to bed in, especially on the rear as they don't do much most of the time.
