Remove the plastic engine cover and unscrew the 14 sided oil filter cap - for which you need a special socket (cheap in Halfords and the like). Remove the cap and withdraw the cap + central "stick" and then pull the filter element out of the housing by hand.
Replacement elements come with 2 "O" rings which must be changed. The smaller one goes in a groove at the bottom of the "stick" and the larger fits above the threaded outer portion of the cap. The tightening torque is stamped on the cap. The element fits one way only and is marked.
Avoid all fast fit centres unless you want your car's undertray damaged, incorrectly refitted or the fixings lost. The alloy sump thread is also intolerant of gorilla handling.

Many thanks for that, sounds like fun, no wonder the dealer charges £120+ per hour............I bought the oil and filter, but..................perhaps they should do it!
Its a good motor so wouldnt want to hurt it.
