Lots of speed typos and an error try this
The front inner pads are sided. There is an arrow on the spring side of the pad and they must be fitted with the arrow pointing in the direction of forward rotation of the wheel. If they are in the wrong side then, yes, you get a single clunk when you first apply the brakes.
The spring is offset slightly and keeps the pad biased to the top of the caliper and resting on the guide rail.
The outer pad can also be fitted incorrectly by not removing the adhesive backing cover.
