BMW X5 E53 - Used BMW X5 - Pullers

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you are well.

I have the option of buying a 2002 BMW X5 3.0i Sport, It has full agent history and 87,000 miles on the clock, overall it looks in nice condition but I have not yet driven it.

It is priced up at 9995 but is up for a bit of negotiation, Im looking at trading in my car and maybe running one of these for a year or two. In which case it would have done around 115,000 when it comes to selling it on.

Is there any big issues to look for on these and would 28-30mpg be achievable on a run, what do you think?

If mpg is a concern do not buy it because its consumption is frightening.

Seems very pricey- my son's X5 - 06 Diesel with 40K on the clock was offered between £12k-£14K T/I

4 years newer, diesel, half the mileage..............

A work colleague of mine runs an 04 plate 3.0i sport (petrol). It has been reliable, but eats tyres(big and expensive). He says he gets around 18-19MPG on rural roads in to work and can get 23-25 on a long run.
