Can you recommend a good small car with a high driving position?

I will be selling my Vauxhall Zafira and would like to buy a smaller car. I'm looking for a reliable petrol car that's automatic and one that would have a slightly higher sitting position than the average car. I would like to buy a used car up to two years old and my annual mileage is between 7 to 8000 miles.

I'd buy a Toyota CH-R hybrid. It has a raised driving position and its petrol-electric engine would return excellent fuel economy on the shorter drives that you do. The CH-R is pretty practical, although it doesn't have quite the same rear-seat headroom as your Zafira, and it's got an excellent infotainment system. Toyota's are very reliable so I'd have no concerns buying a two-year-old example. Read our review: www.honestjohn.co.uk/carbycar/toyota/c-hr-2016/
