Honda Jazz - Dealer Servicing or Not ? - Naffy

Hi All,

Have a 53 Jazz thats needs major service and been quoted around the £500 mark for it. Now in my younger days I handled almost any job on a car and can more than easily do a major on my Jazz ( mind the comfort of a heated garage with full Audio entertainment, soft furnishing on floor and surgical gloves are a pre-req these days ) and was wondering, as the car is now 7 yr old, is there any valuein a dealer stamped service history at that age ?

I'd think £500 is a lot, but this this include anything special due to the age of the car? Shop around for a Honda dealer that does wants your business.

The difference between a major service and a normal service is they kick the tyres a bit harder and tell you that the car requires new discs.£500 you can buy a good car for that its probabley around a third of what the cars worth in the trade.

I have decided that I will DIY with oe parts. I am more than capable of most work on cars, but these days don't like the dirt under my nails !

Use disposable gloves as most mechanics do these days.

Don't buy latex disposables. They don't last. Vinyl are much better.
