Ford Fiesta - Warranty, service time and mileage leeway? - cheddar

Hi All,

We have seen a Fiesta registered in Jan 09 and 14700 miles however it has not yet been serviced.

Therefore it is 4 to 5 months over the service limit on time and around 2300 miles over on mileage, nevertheless the dealer (non franchised though a national company) assures me that they can validate the warranty to Ford's satisfaction.

Any thoughts?

Hi Cheddar (great to see you back on here, by the way)

I think if I were you I'd be cautious. (a) Manufacturers seem more and more to be taking advantage of irregularities, however minor, to duck out of warranty claims: (b) There are lots of other Fiestas around without that problem. Possibly this one is a bargain on purchase price but you might prefer to pay a few hundred pounds more for peace of mind.

Thanks Avant, your last point is the key, yes if we can find one for a few hundred more that is a year old so due its service now then that might be better.
