Can someone please tell me if the front shock absorbers on a Mk3 Mondeo are the same or is there a different one for left and right side?

can you unbolt the bracket for brake pipe/drop arm?

Yes the drop arm / brake pipe bracket can be put on either side of the shock which makes me think that they are the same but after replacing the LHS shock the car is pulling hugely to the RHS so something has gone wrong for me.

swap wheels round if non confrontational and see what happens

If you have a new shocker on one side and a worn shocker on the other the car will behave strangely, normal practice is to replace shockers/springs etc in pairs.
