02 1.8 changed lamba sensors, ecu light still on - kristianjoneid
My vectra engine management lights keeps coming on. Had diagnostic check which said lambda sensors. Put 2 new ones on thinking it was ok, then same problem light came back on. The weird thing is it only comes on when you do 80 mph. Can drive all day long under 80 mph and light wont come on but when you go over 80 the light comes back on and seems to be when you start to brake from 80 mph it comes on instantly. Any suggestions?

It is doing my head in. When it comes on i have to pay another 40 quid to get it took of again but diagnostic came up with no faults only for the 2 sensors that i changed before. Any suggestions? cheers

What were the error codes they gave you? You shouldn't get charged for another diagnostic check if they haven't solved the problem. If they've wrongly diagnosed the problem then the onus is on them to sort it out.

Are you sure the post cat lambda sensor has been checked and is working could be faulty. I would check and replace rear post cat sensor (your car has 2)

Have you checked there are no air leaks around the throttle body?

Lastly if youve done all that and still the engine management light is on then it could be the crankshaft sensor.

Bear in mind that not all of the issues with modern cars will come up with a diagnostic test. Hope this helps.

All the best
