"The drive will takes place today at 11.15am, with Surtees ? famous as the only person to win motorcycle and car world championships ? expected to be welcomed in France at the Eurotunnel terminal at Coquelles, near Calais, at about 1.30pm local time."
One and a quarter hours for 31 miles. He'll be bored inside 5 minutes and wondering why he agreed to it! Let the train take the strain!

According to where I picked this up today (not the DT as it happens) he's done the drive and was limited to 31mph - still enjoyable though I reckon.
Some nice photos here :-

I can't see the photos without registering with them.
Guess the 31mph is the normal speed limit for the service vehicles.
I went down the service tunnel in a train during constuction. That was interesting. The size of the crossover caverns was enormous and they looked and smelt just like any other constuction site. You just had to remind yourself that the English Channel and all the boats were above your head.

Just caught the end of a SKY TV item on this. ( now on their website )
After Ginetta stopped and needed a fix they even showed JS drifting off line and just about avoiding a serious scrape on the wall.
It looked very boring to me especially with a camera crew in front of him filming his progress.
