I have wired up my trailer to be used on my Chrysler Grand Voyager and all works well except the fog lights, they come on with the side lights. Have checked out the car rear light clusters and problem seems to be with the comman earth/fog light relay, if you have lights on then fog lights will come on. At the moment I have disconnected my trailer fog light cable but want to know haw I can connect the fog light cable so lights only come on when the fog light switch is activated.

I had the same thing with my Voyager. Here's what I think...
The problem is that the rear fog lights in the car take the +12V straight from the rear tail lights within the cluster. The car fog lights are switched on by switching the return to chassis. You'll find that the trailer fogs go off when you put the vehicle fogs on!
Solution 1 is to wire one side of trailer fogs to the sidelight feed, the other to the trailer wire blue. Problem with this is it won't work properly if anyone else tows your trailer.
It'll behave with them as it now behaves with you.
Solution 2 is to put a relay in the trailer fog feed to reverse the polarity of the blue feed so that it goes +12V when you switch fogs on instead of going to chassis.
This will mean you can tow any trailer.
i haven't fixed mine yet!

best option, I used to have to wire a lot of the jap 4x4's the same way for tow bars. always works fine
