Hi folks
Need some advice asap.
My fella got pulled over last thursday 8th oct, was given a producer.
The pc who pulled him couldnt find any insurance for him on system.
Now i knew it was insured , so rang more than insurance. when it came to the reg plate was 1 digit wrong cars reg starts with R599 they had R559, they apologised and issued new certificate.
right now for part 2 lol.
My fellas had a ongoing problem with the dvla about his driving licence.
he had his licence revoked 18 months ago and was allowed it back last nov, we applied for it in april this year no probs they cashed cheque etc etc, said it would be sent out asap.
6 months on we still havnt recieved it. weve rang soooo many times you wouldnt believe to be told numerous things they had no record of him etc etc. when it came to they had his date of birth wrong on system so when we sent form in it didnt match to what they had and they didnt know where to match the details funds etc to.
so when it came to producer the documetns we had for insurance was slightely wrong so the police are saying car wasnt insurer.
plus couldnt produce driving licence.
so in all not good as they saying he cant produce anything and will get taken to court.....
What can happen to him as he needs his car to get to work, im so stressed about this any help very much appreciated.
Thanks DL

I would have thought that a letter from the insurers confirming their mistake would normally solve the insurance problem.
But your fella has no licence, and thus can't have insurance. Doesn't look good from where I'm sitting.
And whilst he might 'need' his car for work, he is not licenced and so should stop breaking the law before he compounds his situation, or worse! If plod pull him again, expect to lose the car.
I wish more people would realise that a licence is a privilege, not a right.

Being pedantic here, but that is not true. A privalige is something that is granted at anothers discretion and can be withdrawn without reason. Provided you fulfill the legal requirements for holding a driving licence it CANNOT be refused and is held as a right.
On the OP, I am a bit suspicious of the whole story. The claim is that the boyfriends licence was revoked, not that he was disqualified for a fixed period. Two reasons it could have been revoked are on medical grounds, where he would have had to satisfy the DVLA that whatever condition he had had cleared up and his records on their database would have been ongoing, so there would be no reason for them to have altered his DoB from what they knew it as when he first applied, and the second would be that he had accumulated 6 points in his first two years and he would have reverted to a provisional and pass his test again.
Apologies if I am wrong, but we have previously had a speight of complicated problems from first time posters who we never heard from again after generating long threards. More details are needed on this.

My thoughts exactly.

you apply for a licence - it arrives in the post - you are licenced.
If it does not appear you do not have a licence.
Drive a car with no licence implies no insurance................
Looks like the charges will be driving without licence & insurance - a ban is likely.

If he has been given a producer visit Plod Shop before 7 days are up and explain difficulties. They can interrogate DVLA file on Licence and may come up trumps.
As far as Insurance is concerned then get a letter from the Ins Co regarding their mistake and get them to comfirm that at the time and date in question they held themselves at risk in relation to the use of the vehicle. If Insuirance offence pushed by Plod plead NG and produce letter at Court.
An Insurance certificate allows a person to drive "providing he holds, OR HAS HELD a Licence to drive." Up to Plod to prove otherwise.
The Question is on what grounds was the Licence revoked?.

That is not true. A privalige is something that is granted ..
To continue the pedantry, the privalige (sic) we are talking about has to be earned (by fulfilling certain conditions) and similarly can be withdrawn after breaching certain other conditions. It is not something which any- or everyone has a Right to.

Won't apply to the OP, but a surrendered licence for medical reasons, when the health declarations can be made and are accompanied by a new licence applicaton, the applicant is treated as licensed, as soon they are received in Swansea. This does not apply if Swansea or the courts have taken the license off you.
Not the only odd thing here either!
