98 2.7 Engine Management light comes on regularly. - Paul.H
The engine management light comes on, on a regular basis.. the vehicle seems to perform ok and when i press the brake pedal the engine management light goes out...?

Has anyone else had this problem or have any idea how to solve the problem..?

I am having the exact same issue.

The terrano runs perfect. No smoke no flat spots no change when light pops on. Soon as I tap the brake pedal the light goes off for a minute or two. I done the Eml blink test and came up with code 87. On looking this up it links to either a purge canister but don't believe the diesels have it or

"brake light switch system"

This seems to ring true as light goes out under breaking but both brake lights work. As do all lights. It's this 14 pin plug on my terrano year 2000 2.7 diesel
