Just had a low speed shunt - 3T
Hi all , I just had a small shunt - first ever in 18 years of driving !
I was stationary at a junction and the following driver didn't stop in time.
Looked ok at a casual glance but a bit of missing paint and cracks/ripples under the laquer on top the now quite soft bumper .
Ins company notified , claims will get back to me tomorrow.
No obvious injuries to either driver although my shoulders and neck now feel stiff- could be just tense ?
What happens now - I am naive to the process !
Other driver took photo of my bumper - prob no use as damage difficult to see except at certain angles ie looking straight down .

if you dont feel right in the morning go to a walk in centre and get the quack to have a look
do not ignore a neck pain

I second Bell Boy. If you have a problem with your neck or back get it seen to.

I 3rd it... in fact, I would go tonight.
if it is whiplash you may not be able to get out of bed tomorrow with the pain/stiffness.

With modern cars, crumple zones absorb a lot of the impact - but they tend to be invisible and costly to repair/replace, so his photographs would be meaningless if he is trying to wriggle out of a claim.

Thanks for replies guys
I will nip down to see my gp tomorrow , can't face the thought of casualty right now and it has got no worse , could be just a headache but worth checking out I suppose

I hope you are all right 3T. Of course better safe than sorry but it didn't sound too bad from your description of the incident.

Before the days of seat belts I was in at least two or three traffic shunts that resulted in bent steering wheels among other damage (not necessarily always driving myself). Can't remember any people being injured in any of them.

Fingers crossed.
