Seconded - or any other good 5W/30 semi synthetic. The Ford stuff is great value though. (<£20 for 5 litres)
Morrisons petrol stations have Texaco 5W 30 for £15.68 5 litres which seems comply to the Ford spec.
hi thanks for the replys.I bought some before I saw them will 15/40 synthetic be ok or is it too thick
Texaco make the oil for Ford;it's the same oil.
do I need a special tool for the sump plug on this engine
No-13mm. spanner IIRC but it is probably worthwhile getting a new washer;motor accessory shop will have them.
ok thanks.do you know if the oil I got will be ok
No it will not be OK.
You need 5W-30 semi synthetic as you have been advised by several posters.
15W-40 is much too thick for a modern Ford engine, you will have trouble if you use this oil. Also the 15W-40 is not full synthetic, is it? Have another look on the can.
In case I have not made it clear, use 5W-30 semi synthetic and nothing else in a newish modern Ford engine.
Is the 10W-40 semi or full synthetic? I think it will be semi.
What brand is it?
If your engine is worn it probably would be OK, but 5W-30 is the recommended one.
